Hi All,
Hope you are doing well….lets see, what happened today. I woke up at about 330 am and thought it was morning. Pretty interesting schedule change. Can you say jet lagimosis? Anyway, dragged my butt out of bed at about 9 and had some free breaky at the hotel and then jammed to a town called Lucca, about 30 kilometers NE. (I love using the word kilometer instead of mile). What a unreal place. It was a Roman city in the year 100. Yes I said 100. And some of that still exists. Then in knight times (1500’s) they enclosed the whole city with this 30 foot high red brick wall that you can ride a bike on top in a circle for 3 miles. Inside are castles mansions restaurants shopping espresso gellato music art architecture botanical gardens a stream open flowing well water to drink skinny little stone streets and on and on. So I rented a bike for the day and just cruised around like a local. Except I was the guy who stopped every 10 feet to snap a photo or something. Ate a great lunch, took a nap on a park bench in the back of this mansion, 3 espressos, fruit, bought a shirt, and then finally took off about 7 only because I didn’t want to drive home in the dark. The autostrada (freeway) is going to take some getting used to.
I realize you’ve come to a baseball site and expect baseball posts but…..get used to it because I’m in serious site seeing mode. The baseball academy doesn’t ramp up until the 7th of August and I’ve got some castles to explore.
Cin cin!
Brent
