Pudge
June 26, 2009A big hats off to Ivan Rodriguez. A couple days ago, he took over the number one slot from Carlton Fisk by catching in his 2227th game. In my opinion, this is a super human feat and as amazing as any baseball record out there….steroids or no steroids.
Although I don’t know him personally, I played against him a whole bunch. He was always a pleasure to compete against. He played the game hard, with passion and respect. He’s a hard nosed guy who keeps getting up and coming back for more when he gets knocked down. A gifted athlete and a player’s player. Nice job Ivan.
Here’s the new top 10…
1 Ivan Rodriguez 2227
2 Carlton Fisk 2226
3 Bob Boone 2225
4 Gary Carter 2056
5 Tony Pena 1950
6 Jim Sundberg 1927
7 Al Lopez 1918
8 Benito Santiago 1917
9 Brad Ausmus 1898
10 Lance Parrish 1818
75 Brent Mayne 1143

Taylor Dent look alike
Unrelated: I saw Manny Ramirez play for the San Bernardino 66′ers last night..
It was pretty rad.. felt like you were at a high school game watching him… but, pretty sad.. when he struck out twice.. the kid who struck him out has to be stoked though.
