San Fran
June 19, 2009Well, just got back from a fantastic trip up to San Francisco. I went up with my son Noah and oldest daughter Dylan to check out colleges and take in a game at Giants stadium.
What a great city….where to begin. I’ll just give some highlights off the top of my head and follow with some photos.
Here goes. Stayed at a killer hotel, the Fairmont. Had the best professional baseball watching experience of my life. The seats were dangerous close, 6 or 7 homeruns were hit including a splash down in McCovey cove, the guy behind us got down on his knee and popped the question (she said yes), great collision against the wall by T. Hunter, great weather, got recognized and ended up on TV, and bought a cool Seals hat.
We rode the trolley, drank tea at the tea garden, saw great art, visited Alcatraz, and ate great food highlighted by a restaurant called Gitane.
We gave money to bums, ate soup from a bread bowl, saw gay folks, hiked up and down many hills, visited colleges, and just had an amazing time. Thank you San Fran…..I’ll be back. Here’s some images.

What, no Haight-Ashbury photos?
Good to see we have some ex athletes who enjoy the culture of the city- rather than just hanging out at bars and strip joints! Thanks for the blog Brent- my 12 year old son has aspirations of becoming a catcher and your blog is a great motivator for kids and parents…
